|2016 Volunteer Crew Training held at Oak Point Park for #PlanoBalloon|
Volunteers would be matched to a Hot Air Balloon Pilot and be part of their crew to help with setting up, launching and packing up the balloon after a flight during the Festival. We have two flights a day. For the morning flights we meet at 6am and usually finished by 10am. The evening flights we meet at 4pm and usually finished by 8pm. We provide breakfast for the morning flights and provide dinner after the flight each evening. All volunteers receive a 2017 #PlanoBalloon festival t-shirt to wear for their shifts and we currently need to fill approximately 60 slots.

Crew meet prior to each flight inside the Collin Creek Mall by JC Penney. You park at the mall and we meet in one of the empty stores that we rent for the Festival weekend. You would check-in and then be assigned to a pilot for that flight. The pilot will pick up you from the mall and you would go with the pilot in his/her vehicle. After the flight you will be returned to the Mall. After each evening flight we provide dinner for everyone to enjoy.
We also provide hands-on training where we have several Hot Air Balloon Pilots that train new crew members prior to the Festival. We meet at the actual Festival site at Oak Point Park, Plano TX. This year’s hands-on training will be Saturday September 16, 2017 at 6am. If we have bad weather on that day our back-up class will be on Saturday September 17, 2017 at 6am.
